Keep registration and DNS where you need them
Domain registration and authoritative DNS are separate tasks. You can retain .es registration at ESDomain while using Cloudflare for DNS. Renewal and registrant contacts remain at ESDomain, while records are edited in Cloudflare. Establish who controls each account so the organisation can access both whenever changes are needed.
Prepare the zone before switching nameservers
Add the domain to Cloudflare and review detected or imported records. Pay particular attention to the root address, www and email. Copy the nameservers Cloudflare assigns to that zone into ESDomain’s individual nameserver fields. If the domain uses DNSSEC, coordinate its signing keys and delegation through the migration.
Check where future changes belong
After confirmation, check that website and email work with the new nameservers. Adding a record to an old, inactive zone will not change what visitors receive. Keep hosting and email instructions with your DNS copy. Cloudflare hosting and protection products have their own configuration and commercial terms.
From name to account
- Search for the name and check availability.
- Choose one or three years and complete the registrant details.
- Review payment and wait for registration confirmation in your account.
A search does not reserve the name. If an order needs review, its status appears in your account and support can help.
