Choose the address before choosing hosting
You can register a domain while the website is still in development. This helps when you have chosen the name but need time to compare providers or prepare content. Once registration is confirmed, the name is yours for the purchased period. A search result or an unpaid request does not reserve the address.
Understand the separate services
The domain identifies the project, hosting serves the website and an email provider operates mailboxes. ESDomain lets you change nameservers and edit DNS records when using our nameservers. Purchasing the domain does not add a hosting package. Website builder and email costs depend on the services you select.
Connect services when you need them
Ask your host for the records needed by the root address and www. If adding email, use the settings from that provider as well. Make changes at the DNS service currently authoritative for the domain. Before switching nameservers, save the existing records and check that the new provider can preserve both website and email connections.
From name to account
- Search for the name and check availability.
- Choose one or three years and complete the registrant details.
- Review payment and wait for registration confirmation in your account.
A search does not reserve the name. If an order needs review, its status appears in your account and support can help.
