Registration and management

How long does a .es domain take to register and work?

Understand .es order, payment, registration and DNS stages. Find out what to check when your domain is not active yet.

Identify which stage is pending

Pending can refer to the order, payment, registry registration or website connection. Identify which stage your account actually confirms before trying to fix it. A saved unpaid request needs different action from a confirmed payment whose registration is under review. Keep the order reference and review its current status rather than relying only on a browser return page.

Openprovider describes ordinary .es registration as a real-time process subject to its requirements. That does not turn every submitted request into an immediate-registration promise. Availability, registrant information and provider confirmation still matter. Restricted extensions such as .gob.es and .edu.es follow different procedures and are outside ESDomain’s standard registration offering.

What payment confirms

ESDomain can save an eligible request before opening checkout. A request requiring review remains visible as received and unpaid. Once payment is confirmed, the relevant processing can start. A Stripe receipt confirms the payment, while the domain’s registered state must be checked separately in your account. Keep both parts of the transaction understandable.

If you leave the payment page, check Orders before starting again. An open order may let you continue its existing checkout session. If it is under review, contact support with the reference. A page that took too long to load is not sufficient reason to assume another payment for the same name is required.

Check registration and publication

A registered domain may still display no website if hosting has not been connected. Ask the host for the root and www records, and add them at the authoritative DNS service. Also check that the host recognises the domain and has prepared HTTPS. Those checks concern publication after registration, not another purchase of the name.

Following a change, some lookups may temporarily retain earlier answers according to caching and TTLs. Review the registration state and intended DNS values before repeating edits. Where website and email use different providers, test both. One working service does not establish that the other has the correct records or has completed its own setup process.

When to ask for help

Ask for help if payment is confirmed and the order remains under review, the registered name differs from the order, or the missing step is unclear. Include the domain, order reference and displayed state. A screenshot can help, provided passwords, complete payment details and unrelated private information are hidden from it.

The domain controls offer a support action with the address already included in the subject. Support can compare payment and registrar records, then review delivery or the applicable refund if completion is impossible. A new-registration question does not require sharing a transfer authorisation code. Describe the observed result and let the team identify the relevant operation.
