Check the name before promoting it
If the brand already uses another extension, check its .es version and exact spelling. Domain availability does not replace trademark research. Before investing in signs or campaigns, investigate possible conflicts through official resources. Seek qualified advice about specific rights rather than assuming that buying an available name settles ownership of a brand.
Choose variants with an actual purpose
It may be useful to hold the address customers expect to type or a variation needed for a Spanish project. Every name adds another renewal and configuration to maintain. Prioritise addresses with a clear purpose. Purchasing variants alone cannot prevent impersonation, trademark disputes or the registration of other similar names.
Connect the address and retain access
Decide whether .es will host its own content or lead to the main website through an HTTP redirect configured at your host. A DNS record alone does not create an HTTP redirect. Check HTTPS and older links that people may still share. Keep the domain under its owner’s control and review notices before renewal.
From name to account
- Search for the name and check availability.
- Choose one or three years and complete the registrant details.
- Review payment and wait for registration confirmation in your account.
A search does not reserve the name. If an order needs review, its status appears in your account and support can help.
