Renewal starts with your calendar
When a domain is part of a business, keeping it should be an assigned responsibility. Record its expiry date, who reviews notices and which account has authorised access to the dashboard. If both an agency and client are involved, agree who makes each decision so neither assumes the other is handling renewal.
Keep the complete domain name and registrar details too. A business may own several extensions or older projects still used by customers. Review that list before cancelling any renewal. What appears to be an unused website address might still be present in email addresses, printed material or an important customer link.
Separate initial registration from renewal
For standard registrations covered by our planned offer, the first year is €8.99 and subsequent renewal is €11.99 per year, both as total prices. Choosing three initial years means paying €26.97 upfront. The initial payment does not make every future renewal part of that purchase or preserve the introductory price indefinitely.
Before renewing, read the operation summary. Confirm the domain, the period being added and the final amount. If managing several names, calculate the combined budget. Keeping expected costs available makes it easier to decide which projects to maintain and avoids rushed internal approvals when a deadline is close.
Do not rely on one inbox alone
Notices are useful, but supplement them with your own reminder. Keep the contact email current and ensure the responsible team can access it. When staff or email providers change, include domain administration in the list of accounts that must remain under organisational control rather than being left with a former colleague.
Where automatic renewal is available, check its actual status and the service conditions before depending on it. Do not assume that a saved payment method means every step is settled. Review payment notices and confirm that the renewal operation appears completed in the relevant account dashboard instead of relying on memory.
Check the outcome and connected services
After renewal, save the receipt and check the expiry date shown in the dashboard. An initiated request or pending payment still needs follow-up. If there is a discrepancy, retain the operation reference and establish its status before paying again or beginning another operation for the same domain name.
Use the review to check contacts, nameservers and connected services. Document which website and email depend on the domain and who may modify them. If allowing it to expire, first consider customers and linked accounts. A maintenance decision should account for the whole project and its dependencies, rather than treating it as just an invoice.
