Organise the domain and website separately
You can register .es and use it with a compatible Squarespace site. Check the plan’s connection requirements and intended registrant before choosing the name. Domain registration and the website subscription have separate renewals. Record both so an active website subscription is not mistaken for confirmation that the domain itself has been renewed.
Use the records supplied for your site
Start Squarespace’s connection process for a domain you already own. Its dashboard provides verification and connection records for that site. Add or update those values at the domain’s active DNS service. Verification codes are account-specific. Review each change before removing existing records that may still support email or other services.
Review the published result
Wait for Squarespace to verify the connection. Then check HTTPS, www and the address chosen as primary. Test internal pages and forms as well as the homepage. If verification stays pending, compare each record’s name, type and content with the current dashboard instructions, and confirm that you are editing the authoritative DNS service.
From name to account
- Search for the name and check availability.
- Choose one or three years and complete the registrant details.
- Review payment and wait for registration confirmation in your account.
A search does not reserve the name. If an order needs review, its status appears in your account and support can help.
